Wyndstock - A Midsummer Night’s Ball & Garden Party

Messrs Mark Holdstock and Viktor Wynd Request and Require The Guilded Honour of Your Beautiful Presence at:

Wyndstock IV - a Midsummer Night’s Ball

In the palatial splendor of the gardens and grounds of Houghton Hall in Norfolk
on the Weekend of the 22nd June 2013.

By kind permission of the Marquess of Cholmondeley

There will be lawn games, dancing from sunset to sunrise, feasting on food produced on the estate or on nearby farms, art, literature, music, tea and cake, astronomy, a magnificent firework display, croquet, tours of the house, storytelling at midnight, falconry, the biggest bonfire we can build, miles and miles of parkland to wander, delectable cocktails, and a magical bar hidden in the woods.

Houghton Hall Estate is one the most beautiful places we’ve been to anywhere in the world, encompassing many square miles of land. The whole estate is open for our guests to wander freely and, due to the organic nature of much of the farming, it is teaming with wildlife. The people who work the estate will be on hand to chat and give guided tours. Wander through the park with the deer keeper; sit on a trailer behind a tractor and have the farmer tell you what things are and how it is they grow; scratch and pet the prize winning English Long Horn Cattle and Norfolk Sheep; whilst local falconers will be on site with their magnificent birds of prey,
showing people how they fly and hunt.

Wyndstock was formed by two people who love parties and the countryside and who have spent some of their most enjoyable days and nights in the country at beautiful houses with food, eating, drinking and dancing.

Which is why they formed Wyndstock. Deliberately a Country House Party, not a festival, an anti-festival in fact, taking as its inspiration a family wedding (without the boring and embarrassing bits) or a thirtieth birthday party.

The food is included and from the estate; the numbers are low; everything is open to wander about and you may not know the person you sit next to at dinner, sit with by the fire, watch fireworks or dance until dawn with at the beginning of the party, but they hope by the end of it you do. And they make sure that the dress code of “Simply Your Finest Attire” is strictly enforced.

Wyndstock will continue to take place every summer until its founders die or despair.

Please note Wyndstock is not a festival – it’s a Country House Party – once you are through the gates you can wander at will over thousands of acres of private parkland, fields, wood , gardens and deer park; play croquet or badminton on the lawns; have a poke about inside the house; snooze under a tree or drive to a beach. This is not an event in a muddy field with far too much to do and tens of thousands of people; there’s plenty of those around and we don’t like them and won’t be going to them.

Dress Code - Simply Your Finest Attire

Admission Tickets are £100 each
£160 for a Pair and £350 for a Framily of Five.
