Coquette at Kettner’s

Posted By admin On August 16, 2011 @ 2:43 pm In Diary Dates | No Comments

David Carter’s ladies’ pampering events entitled ‘Tart’ simply outgrew his beautiful boutique hotel [1] 40 Winks so a larger but equally glamorous space was duly sought. Luckily, historic restaurant and champagne bar [2] Kettner’s has come to the rescue with the divine ‘Coquette’.

80 lucky ladies will be able to revel in the decadent atmosphere once enjoyed by Oscar Wilde, sip champagne and cocktails from vintage tea cups and sample delicious sandwiches, cakes and chocolates before being transformed into vintage goddesses by an army of make-up artists and vintage style gurus.

[3] Lipstick & Curls will be on hand to beautify & Benefit’s head make-up artist Lisa Potter Dixon will be sharing her top tips in an exclusive master class. If you’re lucky you might even win ‘Benefit’s Best Girl’ award worth an eye-watering £300! Little coquettes will also be treated at the beauty clinic with mini treatments run by [4] Murad.

Lana Citron discusses the ‘The Art of Kissing’

The ‘Dressing Up’ room is where you can allow your imagination to run wild with vintage inspired dresses. Why not try on something fun and delicious in our amazing dressing up room where you will be seduced by the work of some of London’s brightest and coolest young designers, like Kelly Isaac, Creative Director of Modern Courtesan and owner of cult lingerie boutique, the Lingerie Collective, or slip in to something gorgeous by fabulous faux vintage label Bettie Page from [6] Stop Traffic Clothing.

At August’s event, we even have milliner to the stars, [7] Katherine Elizabeth, who creates delicious confections for people like Dita von Teese, Lily Allen and Alexa Chung, and romantically nostalgic label [8] Gia London, a favourite with girl band The Saturdays.

There will be entertaining talks on kissing, etiquette and cocktail- making & you needn’t feel guilty eating lots of cake thanks to ‘Dance with a Stranger’ a gentle introduction to the mysteries of Swing dance by Mr Paul Crook.

Other special guests in Augut include [9] Liz Brewer on etiquette for girls, [10] Fleur de Guerre on vintage style, Katie Halford (founder of cult faux vintage lingerie brand, [11] What Katie Did) waxing lyrically on subjects such as ‘Stocking Secrets’ or ‘the Fundamentals of Undergarments’,  man guru [12] Zoe Strimpel who will run a dating clinic focusing on ‘ten ways to make him fall for you’, and angelologist, [13] Angela McGerr, who will delight guests with angel readings.

Tickets are £90, which includes the full champagne afternoon tea, make-over and a lovely goodie bag at the end of the afternoon.
