If you’re a whisky aficionado (or want to be), hurry down to the Whisky Den in Covent Garden while you still have the time - only a few days left. Hosted by Balvenie, this lovely pop up celebrates craftsmanship and is a place to explore the creative elements of whisky making. Craftsmen have transformed the temporary whisky den on Tavistock street in Covent Garden, creating a stunning architectural experience.
Once inside, guests will be able to navigate their way from room to room, as if they were inside a giant whisky Tun, featuring seats which ‘grow’ out of the walls and indoor fields of barley.
The whole experience is interactive, giving people a chance to see just some of the rare crafts that make Balvenie different from any other whisky. Nowhere else will you find a distillery that still grows its own barley, still malts in its own traditional floor maltings, still employs coopers to tend all the casks and a coppersmith to maintain the stills.
Tutored whisky tastings will take place this Saturday June 4th (at 2pm and 4pm) designed to teach whisky explorers the techniques of nosing and tasting whisky as well as giving enthusiasts an insight into what makes The Balvenie so special as the most handcrafted Single Malt.
The Whisky Den is free to enter and visit, with the specialist whisky bar offering a unique chance to sample all the expressions in The Balvenie range including rare and unique bottlings from the distillery.
Open daily from 1pm-8pm until June 5th @ 34 Tavistock Street, Covent Garden, WC2E 7PB.
