The Richmond Literature Festival presents The Literary Salon – three weeks of the finest writers, poets and spoken word artists, all under one roof.
The Literary Salon invites you to spend some time browsing our exhibition or leaf through a book from our library while you put your feet up. We also like to hear your thoughts so grab a pen and get scribbling on our Q&A wall space – tell us a story, or a joke, or a poem…
Ghoulish and glamorous, this Halloween Special in a breathtaking new venue will be an absinthe-tinted foray into a dark, dangerous and slightly depraved fantasy world of dazzling dancers, daring outfits and death defying feats. Throughout the evening, guests marvel at the spectacular surroundings, inspired by the aerialists and trapeze artists as they twist and turn from the ceiling.

As all promises should be kept, we're sticking to our pledge of bringing back charm school.
"CHARM school", you say? Why, yes, charm school. A modern-day charm school.
Don't think posh finishing school, don't you dare. Very much the contrary, our polite academy is like no other: it's been designed to fit busy and fast-paced contemporary lives where both men and women need to slow down, learn and share, understand life skills, and just enjoy going back to basics...not to mention, just be charming and make a winsome impression.
David Carter’s ladies’ pampering events entitled ‘Tart’ simply outgrew his beautiful boutique hotel 40 Winks so a larger but equally glamorous space was duly sought. Luckily, historic restaurant and champagne bar Kettner’s has come to the rescue with the divine ‘Coquette’.
Come and celebrate all things fabulous about the 1950s, at a special late event at the Museum of London, to mark the 60th anniversary of the Festival of Britain. The late event, packed full of glamour, dance, music and culture, takes place on the 11 August 2011 from 6.30 - 9.30pm.
Vintage at Southbank Centre is a three-day party, a big dressing-up box and a collector’s dream, celebrating the 1920s to the 1980s. Join us for this exclusive event where ticket holders will enjoy over 13 hours of music, fashion, film, art, design, and dance each day. All of this will take place at the Southbank Centre on the 29th, 30th and 31st of July 2011.
