the Mistress of Manners
The Mistress of Manners invites you to the Cadogan Hotel where MIEN Magazine's Charm School will be popping up for four exclusive classes starting November 19th.
For this holiday special, etiquette enthusiasts are invited to attend classes in the glorious setting of the Cadogan Hotel where the likes of Oscar Wilde have imbibed and socialised in a most civilised fashion.
The sessions we have designed are dedicated to the fast-approaching holiday season, which is always fraught with situations that require more social savvy.
The Charm School will be welcoming visitors on November 19, 20, 27, and 28th.

The Mistress of Manners of MIEN Magazine's Charm School is pleased to announce two exclusive sessions for the festive season:
The art of small talk and (for the ladies) Look like a minx without the stylist for all your festive occasions.

Did you think we'd forgotten about you? No such thing, we just needed a little recuperation time from our modern day Charm School. But we're back...and with the such vengeance (all politely, naturellement).
As we promised, here is our news about our newest venture to delight, to educate, and to remind us all that we still need to mind our Ps and Qs.
Here are the full details we've been sending in the form of a digital missive. Please spread the word and come join us for a tea and lesson, it would please us greatly.
On September 14th, The Charm School is popping up in a space on Exmouth Market in London.

As all promises should be kept, we're sticking to our pledge of bringing back charm school.
"CHARM school", you say? Why, yes, charm school. A modern-day charm school.
Don't think posh finishing school, don't you dare. Very much the contrary, our polite academy is like no other: it's been designed to fit busy and fast-paced contemporary lives where both men and women need to slow down, learn and share, understand life skills, and just enjoy going back to basics...not to mention, just be charming and make a winsome impression.

Albert Camus once said: "Charm is the way of getting the answer yes without asking a clear question."
So very true, although it does seem that in our hurried lives not many people are using their charm. It's so simple: a smile, saying please and thank you, waiting in a queue...
Have manners disappeared or are the chaos and manic pace of our modern ways the main obstacles to a happy, relaxed and more charming existence?
The Parlour is now closed. Thanks for making it such a huge success! Thank you to all of our lovely visitors, generous sponsors, supporters and collaborators.
